Heald was a technical college that was trying to come of age. It had completely upgraded its technology, its curriculum, its internal talent and even its students.

We implemented a first-of-its-kind Writer's Workshop connected by an internal LAN, and turned English class into a production studio. Students learned real-world skills in writing, design, and desktop publishing.
 
During this time, I published Writing with Purpose & Passion. It became the textbook for many of my English courses at Heald and Chabot colleges.
